Kaiko Studio founders

Linda and Maciej come from a background in interior architecture and concrete construction. They are both passionate about hiking in the Wicklow landscapes, are fascinated by sacred geometry and share a deep passion for a holistic and sustainable lifestyle.

In November 2016, Linda and Maciej founded Kaïkø Studïø, a design company for contemporary home accessories and furniture. After a few months, they also started experimenting with jewelry design, using the same industrial materials.

Designs and products:

Linda and Maciej work primarily with concrete, resin and brass; their designs are inspired by nature and organic, in harmony with architecture and geometry. When they lived in the centre of Dublin, the influence of the urban environment was evident in their designs, characterised by clean symmetrical lines and a monochromatic palette. However, since moving to Bray, County Wicklow, they definitely feel a shift towards more organic designs, enriched with subtle colour accents.

Inspiration for new designs:

Linda and Maciej try to learn new skills by taking craft classes that aren't necessarily related to their style, but that give them a different perspective and a new approach to their work. Some designs are born from countless experiments, others from accidental imperfections, while some remain on the "learning curve shelf".

They are also inspired by the Japanese worldview called Wabi Sabi, which emphasizes embracing rustic simplicity and the beauty that comes with age. Most of their concrete homewares feature visible imperfections, accented with gold accents. For their jewelry, they use raw brass and copper that oxidize over time, creating a subtle, graceful patina, making each necklace truly unique.
